Re: Raring 5.6.94 (2020)
No point my even considering it, though.....let alone trying it. Anything prior to the Woof-CE built Pups with the efi.img are a waste of time with this new UEFI machine....
I used to enjoy playing with the older Pups. Grrr..!!

Re: Raring 5.6.94 (2020)
Bonjour,
Cordialement

Re: Raring 5.6.94 (2020)
Upps. Excuse me to write in french !This forum is in english !
Hello,
I had installed the old version of raring on an Eee PC 4G netbook as a "full install" because I had not found anything else suitable for this little netbook that I use only when I travel far away, when I cannot secure a modern computer. Indeed, since it is an outdated model, there is no risk of it being stolen, because even in poor countries people know the difference very well...
But this old version of raring is starting to give me problems.
I wonder if this new version allows a "full install".

Re: Raring 5.6.94 (2020)
I cannot provide any guidance to a full install.
But, I did pull my old eeePC from storage (I cannot give this away as no one wants it.) to take a look at couple 32bit WoofCE Pups to see what works.
I found Slack064 v7, found here. I download the ISO file to my USB and booted directly from the file to desktop. Performs admirably. The current problem I have is missing the driver for its WiFi; wired ethernet works fine.
If this helps you, run with it. Also, there are several modern 32bit WoofCE Pups by @Peebee which ALSO should perform well; assuming you want the most modern the forum offers.

Re: Raring 5.6.94 (2020)
The WIFI issue is probably a missing driver and firmware, for the WIFI hardware.
But to fix it, need the exact specific Puppy version and the kernel it is using, info.
Info on exactly what the WIFI hardware is.
Start a new topic about this WIFI issue and we can figure what you need and provide the fix.
The things you do not tell us, are usually the clue to fixing the problem.
When I was a kid, I wanted to be older.
This is not what I expected

Re: Raring 5.6.94 (2020)
Returned the eeePC to old pile. But here's some specs that you'll need for your Wifi, found here:
Code: Select all
Networking Atheros AR8132 Fast Ethernet
Atheros AR9285 802.11n WiFi
Hope this helps you
