when it's on battery.

1. Unplug your charger cord.
2. Remove the battery.
3. Press and hold the "Power" button for 30 seconds.
4. Now plug back in the power/charger cord.
5. Now put the battery back in.

How did you specifically do the Slacko install to the drive?

It's Acer Aspire 1, ZG5
Slacko 5.7.2 CE

Both usb & sd card
Did it with Chrome OS Recovery utility.

This condition reappeared.

After pressing the power button for 30 secs its not turning the notebook back on.
The light indicating power its not blinking either.
Upon pressing power, only the screen flashes briefly at times ...

Try removing the battery.

Plug in the power/charger to provide power to computer.
Are you sure this is actually providing power?

See if it boots that way.

When removing the battery.
If it allows you to look inside the computer.
Look around for anything not correct.

May need to open up the computer and look at everything inside the case.
Loose connections, burned spots, corrosion, bulging capacitors, needed cleaning out of dust bunnies, etc........

I have a very similar netbook, Acer Aspire One AO150, think it is the "American" model of the ZG5, anyway...
I've replaced the charger a couple of times, once because the original finally got to frayed to make contact when
plugged into the charge port, the other time I started experiencing issues similar to yours. I couldn't get it to
boot a couple of times, the indicator light would turn orange instead of the green indicating charge not full.
Sometimes I could just turn the jack plugged into the charge port, I'd hear a "click" sound, and the laptop
would boot. Sometimes I could just remove the battery (which has also been replaced), wait a minute or so,
then reattach, and it would boot. I ordered a new charging cord and wall plug which so far has pretty much
cured the problems. However, I suspect something maybe not making good contact in the charge port because
every now and then I hear that clicking sound...a simple turn of the jack one way or the other gets rid of it.
So, that maybe what you need to do, order a replacement charging cord/adapter and possibly another
battery. Mine is currently on an "extended life" battery, supposed to give about 50 percent more time...
but usually I have it plugged into the charger when in use, lol. If I had the patience, I'd open the case and
see if there is a loose connection on the charge port...these things are pretty small though!

I should also have mentioned...since the AO150 is virtually the same as the ZG5, in my experience you CANNOT get the netbook
to boot with the battery removed. If I'm correct in these 2 Acer Aspire One models being the same, the battery clips in/on at
the top at the point where the display is hinged to the main body. I tried as bigpup said once many years ago, and without the
battery, my AAO AO150 will not do anything when the power button is pushed. I reattached the totally discharged battery and
it booted right up...there must be some circuitry in these netbooks that requires the battery to be connected to complete.
Minor inconvenience...it's really quite a nice design...you can carry an extra charged battery with you, when your current
battery begins running low on charge, just power down then unclip the little sliding clips that hold the battery, slide in the
charged one and reboot! Back in business!

I opened it, one of the plastic cables connecting to the MB was partly disconnected from the socket. I fixed it altogether along with removing a lot of dirt.
In the end all this didn't work so the condition is still the same.
