Re: How to view video thumbnails in ROX-Filer?
It seems kerofin page is dead.
Could not find VideoThumbnail-0.1.14.tar.gz on the net by a quick search.
Without it video thumbnails won't work.

Re: How to view video thumbnails in ROX-Filer?
Can you test the good old ffmpegthumbnailer? I don’t really need the miniatures, so I don’t check it myself yet.

Re: How to view video thumbnails in ROX-Filer?
Here is ffmpegthumbnailer 2.2.2 compiled in Fossapup. It remains only to bind it to the file manager

For what it's worth, the Internet Archive seems to have a backup: https://web.archive.org/web/20150908200 ... .14.tar.gz

See also the related thread Rox thumbnail for video files as well as jpeg in the archived Murga forum.
The solution proposed by step may work in Fossapup64.

Re: How to view video thumbnails in ROX-Filer?
I don't remember if there are thumbnails for the video, but when you click on a video file, XnView plays it in the lower right corner of the screen, as a result of which you can quickly view such files.

Re: How to view video thumbnails in ROX-Filer?
Hmm.... Interesting! So, the all-important question, then; how DO we "bind" it to ROX-filer?
Be nice to finally get this working, if only in Fossapup.
Mike.

Re: How to view video thumbnails in ROX-Filer?
I have 0install AND Rox-Lib2 installed.
Though, no matter where I put VideoThumbnail, it doesn't work.
I put it into:
/usr/lib
/usr/bin
/usr/local
/usr/local/apps
/usr/local/bin
/usr/share
Any hints/tips?

Re: How to view video thumbnails in ROX-Filer?
I didn't care about ROX But here Geeqie 1.6 compiled in Fossapup with support for video thumbnails using ffmpegthumbnailer.
Fossapup OS, Ryzen 5 3600 CPU, 64 GB RAM, GeForce GTX 1050 Ti 4 GB, Sound Blaster Audigy Rx with amplifier + Yamaha speakers for loud sound, USB Sound Blaster X-Fi Surround 5.1 Pro V3 + headphones for quiet sound.
Re: How to view video thumbnails in ROX-Filer?
Hello.
Is there any definitive solution to show video thumbnails in the standard Bionicpup 64 ?
I've followed some mentioned links, and all seem to point to different ideas with a lot of troubleshootings procedures in different puppy installs.
I just need to see a thumbnail to organize my video folders.
Thanks very much.
