Hi,
I'm having trouble booting a live puppy usb on a 2011 mac mini. I've tried live usbs with fossa pup and bionic pup (64 bit) and I cannot boot them. During boot up it freezes on "loading kernel modules".
If someone could help I'll appreciate it.
thanks

Re: Cannot boot puppy on mac mini 2011
Have no other USB drives plugged into computer.
Only the one with Puppy linux version on it.
How exactly are you doing the install to the USB stick???
What is the computers specs?
I assume it has a X86 processor?
The things you do not tell us, are usually the clue to fixing the problem.
When I was a kid, I wanted to be older.
This is not what I expected

Re: Cannot boot puppy on mac mini 2011
Hi again. The boot problem occurs with all official versions of Puppy Linux (64 bit). I created the install USBs with Balena Etcher. My 2011 Mac Mini has a 64 bit processor, Radeon HD6630M graphics card, 16GB RAM and a 120GB internal SSD. The boot always hangs on loading kernel modules. The problem only occurs with Puppy Linux. I've tried other install USBs with Ubuntu, Lubuntu, Pearl Linux, Debian, Pear OS, Arch and all boot without any issues. I have no other USB drives connected when trying to boot, only a USB hub. It's a shame because I love Puppy Linux. Can anyone help please?

Hello,
please look at this Bigpup´s post about USB installer programs.

Etcher may have problems with some versions of Puppy. I used Rufus on Windows and it worked.
