Where can I find a Puppy Linux derivative based on Ubuntu 64 bit (Focal or Bionic) with LXDE interface?

Post by user834276 »

I am looking for a Puppy Linux (official or unofficial) build, based on Ubuntu 64 Bit (20.04 or 18.04) kernel with LXDE as a desktop interface.

In https://sourceforge.net/projects/lxpup those which are based on Ubuntu are all 32 bit and those which are all 64 bit are based on Slack.

Hi @user834276 ,

@peebee offers ydrvs which add the LXDE desktop environment to (amongst others): BionicPup64-8.0 and FossaPup64-9.x.

https://sourceforge.net/projects/lxpup/ ... LXDE-ydrv/

peace

Do you know how to add the ydrv.sfs to the Puppy frugal or live install?

The things you do not tell us, are usually the clue to fixing the problem.
When I was a kid, I wanted to be older.
This is not what I expected :o

Answer: just put the ydrv*.sfs into the same folder as the other pup components (puppy*.sfs initrd.gz vmlinuz zdrv*.sfs etc.) and reboot.

Builder of LxPups, SPups, UPup32s, VoidPups; LXDE, LXQt, Xfce addons; Chromium, Firefox etc. sfs; & Kernels

Key question.

Do you have a frugal install or live install on a drive that is read/write?
USB flash drive, SD card, Internal/external hard drive?

That's true - however the OP asked about LXDE not Xfce ...............
