GPU prices to begin dropping to "sane" levels..?

What works, and doesn't, for you. Be specific, and please include Distro version.

GPU prices to begin dropping to "sane" levels..?

Post by mikewalsh »

Afternoon, gang.

We all know GPU prices have been absolutely ridiculous for a while. Cryptocurrency is the major culprit, but the pandemic (which increased gaming, and thus folks wanting to upgrade), and component shortages have all played their part.

Well, it looks like something is finally being done about it:-

It's not going to drop prices down to sane levels overnight, but at least things are - finally! - beginning to head in the right direction. :D Which HAS to be good news for all of us.

Mike. ;)

Hi Mike. You forgot to mention another small reason - human greed :)

$ 2,000... In my town, an ordinary person needs to work 7 months to raise this amount. At the same time, do not eat or pay for housing.

Different devices. Different approach.

Talking about gaming...

I used to have a gaming cafe in downtown that served local middle and high schoolers. Those kids LAN-partied and online nearly everyday after school. My cafe was unique cuz I provided each PC with a static IP, so each PC could host games (i.e. DotA, etc). I gave them privilege to "play god" with their own "game servers" :thumbup2: .

Some also asked me to build their $$$ computers.

Last time I checked, at least two of them, are now working for Riot Games and making $$$$$$ a year.

Time well spent, (gaming) money well spent.
