Hi, I'm new here.
I have installed Bionic Pup 32 on on Acer Aspire One 533 Netbook.
I've noticed that the Tray Battery indicator doesn't update, or updates randomly.
I'm new to Linux Installing, but am learning.
Any help to get this working please ?

The battery charge indicator in Bionicpup32 8.0 is a very simple one.
The icon is not much of a changing icon, as the charge changes.
It should change at 100%, 80%, 60%, 40%, and 20%.
However, the icon is so small, that the change is hard to see.
The hover over icon, percent charge number, just does not work. It seems to show what it was, when Bionicpup booted to desktop.
Best way to use it.
If you left mouse click on icon, a pop up info, should show exactly what is going on.
Is it doing that for you?
If it seems slow to change reading. That is kind of normal for Puppy Linux.
If demand is low for power, the charge is going to be slow to go down.
Especially if the menu-Applications->System->CPU Frequency scaling tool is set for governor: powersave.
Example:
When charge is at 20%. The icon should look like this:

The things you do not tell us, are usually the clue to fixing the problem.

This is not what I expected

Re: Battery Indicator not updating.
The issue is discussed in the Puppy Linux Japanese Forum, too.kit344 wrote: Thu Jul 16, 2020 5:51 pm I've noticed that the Tray Battery indicator doesn't update, or updates randomly.
I compiled a version of powerapplet_tray on bionicpup32, and it is made puplic in the Japanese Forum.
powerapplet_tray-2.6a-bionic32.pet
md5sum 5dd2c5276e3f83d5c5c61d8d3500d9f0
After installation, restarting X is necessary.
The source was taken from the former EasyOS thread, but probably the related posts are no more.
I use it myself. Also, a member of the Japanese forum has reported that it works.
If it is not satisfactory, just uninstall it through the puppy package manager.

I'm using an Acer Aspire One D250, with BionicPup 19.03, and the battery is now about 30% of its factory capacity, so it was a problem not being able to check the real charge left when not plugged to the outlet.
Just installed it and it showed 93% charging. As I finish this message, it now says 96%. So it seems to work fine.
