Kernel support for Rockchip 3566 and 3588 SOC

Post by don570 »

Historic news!!!

Rockchip will have a low power chip available in a few months low-cost ARM design houses in the future.
Pine64 RK3566 Quartz64 Model B board was tested. This board is only intended for developers.
The Model A board will be simpler and cheaper to manufacture.

Note that these chips aren't particulaily powerful but they are low power and their data bus is modern,
so they will be popular in the low-end consumer market.

The RK3566 looks pretty good on paper, but of course 4Gb ram of at least DDR3-1600LP. Such a setup would be rather good.

*** EDIT Read your previous post on this (release) even better, with LPDDR4-1600. Very promising even as 'A' model. ***

Money talks... no, it shouts, so that it doesn't have to hear common sense.
