Something odd about the "Mainline Puppy Linux Distros " section

The "Mainline Puppy Linux Distros " section has only 44 posts as of 08-11-20

Seems odd. Maybe it is being skipped over when first scanning the page.

Maybe being a little confusing being too close to the main forum header?

I think it is simply that members are preferring to ask questions in general help. There are not that many members joined the forum as yet (277 at last count) and many seem to be regulars from old forum. I think everyone is well aware where the main threads for individual Puppy distros are - there have been plenty of views for each distro there but just not many questions. One glaring omission, I see elsewhere, is that in the DogHouse section, for example under Ubuntu Dogs, there is no initial post yet so the likes of BionicDog currently have no thread.

One thing that definitely is (or was) odd is that the old murga forum used to claim upwards of 35 thousand visitors in 'past 24 hours', which always seemed very unlikely. The most ever online at this new forum is currently 41, which occurred on July 24 though there doesn't seem to be any stat for number of people looking but not logging in - many of whom could be bots, such as from Google, that continually map/scan websites. THough it would be great to think tens of thousands of people were checking in here, I personally think the statistics provided by the new forum are a better match to reality - a fair number of regular and dedicated users but not hoards. It could grow over time though as long as new ideas and developments keep coming.

I may be wrong, but AFAIK, josejp2424's dpupbuster Puppies are woof-built. Currently they are 'housed' in Puppy Projects. But, maybe they belong in "Mainline Puppy Linux Distros".

This I tend to agree with.

Notwithstanding the fact that the old Forum had been around for 15 years - and was thus very well-known - the claimed viewing figures always seemed extremely over-optimistic for what is, after all, a small, specialist , "hobbyist" distro.

I would have loved to bellieve them; I think we ALL would. But it just seemed rather hard to swallow, somehow.....
