Making a cozy "kennel" for Puppy from a plastic container

Post by Grey »

Puppy Linux + plastic container + hardware = ?!
2 in one.
The first computer is Raspberry Pi. The third version, but I will replace it with 4.

Second computer. As a motherboard (and processor), I used an Asus N3150I-C. RAM 8 gigabytes. 7-inch 10.1-inch screen(1366x768). SSD from SP with 120 gigabytes, and under it is the usual Hitachi (terabyte). Arrow indicators of sound level. Amplifier and car speakers. The lamps are also from the car, they normally illuminate the room. Fossapup is already installed and working.

The name is difficult to translate, but something like "made it myself with a spark and fire". 128 - in memory of the ZX Spectrum. There will also be a Puppy logo, I think something like "Puppy inside", well, like Intel, only with a Puppy face. Now my fingers just hurt from working with scissors. I make the inscriptions using colored paper and a black and white laser printer. UEFI BIOS and EZ Mode allow you to set your own picture that appears when you turn on the computer - there will also be something about Puppy.
A dozen photos:

The first thing to come to my mind was the heat issue. Do you have proper air outlets?

I live in the very south of Russia, where it is VERY hot in summer Image Therefore, I was also worried. But Asus did not lie - the heatsink copes with the dissipation. Plus there is a case cooler, the rotational speed of which can be smoothly changed with a regulator and turned off with a toggle switch. Yes, and I can also stupidly open the lid Image Image

I got a little confused with another project. The screen is NOT 7, but 10.1 inches (1366x768). The HDMI port remains free and any external monitor can be easily connected as well.

I mentioned ZX Spectrum in the first post. I have to show THIS. Faint-hearted and pregnant, as some say, it is NOT recommended to watch. For HE is Great and TerribleImage

Speccystein. The device is still in working order. The hull is made of weapons-grade steel stolen from a Russian defense plant. Have you heard about Russian submarinesImageImageImage? Here you go. Will it survive an atomic explosion? Yes, it's easy.

A capacitor discharge can kill a horse on the spotImage. Or even disarm the aliens when they invadeImage. However, the device weighs so many kilograms that it can be used as a weapon - just wave around you.

Pay particular attention to the plug and cable for the keyboard - the LATEST Russian technologies are used :D .

Now everyone should understand why the programmers of the 90s were hefty guysImage And today’s mostly squishies and weaklingsImage.

The things you do not tell us, are usually the clue to fixing the problem.
When I was a kid, I wanted to be older.
This is not what I expected :o

@Grey I saw a similar machine on board the R/V Akademik Mstislav Keldysh (Академик Мстислав Келдыш) while I was working on the ship during the expedition to the battleship Bismarck that was filmed by James Cameron. Also on board in a completely shielded space deep in the ship, was a Digital Corp. PDP-11/70! Completely out of commission as was the other machine, but still weird seeing the computer just above the keel in the center of the ship in a completely shielded space seemed to mean the Keldysh was once also used as more than a "deep ocean research" support vessel....which was really cool. Now a days we got drunk on "shelia" (96% alcohol mixed with black tea and sugar...looks like aged whiskey...by the time one tastes it....it's too late) and told stories of back home and our families.

One thing I was impressed by and now have adopted......is how many things the Russian crew could fix with just a rubber mallet.

Still we managed 6 dives with the MIR 1 and MIR 2 to 4842 meters deep, to where the Bismarck rests on the ocean floor.

Being a retired sailor, I was "forced to" click on the link. Very, very impressive bunch of photos. Thanks for sharing.

Thanks for photos. Especially on page 26. It always amazed me why the most interesting photos are not taken by my compatriots. Maybe it's the cameras, their own (ordinary household ones) were not very good.

MIR 1 and MIR 2

Recently, in the month of March, Keldysh was going to be modernized and it was also announced that Mir would be removed. There will be only uninhabited vehicles, all sorts of 'robots'. World trend.
Mir-1 has long been an exhibit at the Museum of the World Ocean. And Mir-2 lies in the port of the city of Kaliningrad. So they have not been sailing the seas for more than ten years. Well at least the photos will remain.
