portable firefox in dcore (solved)

Post by wanderer »

hi fredx and everyone

thanks for firefox portable it is awesome

i am trying to put it into dcore stretch
it will run but no sound
i do have pulseaudio loaded
and firefox-esr 78 will run with sound

any ideas

edit
the solution is
when i loaded pulseaudio
it interfered with apulse
which is what firefox portable uses
so load alsa
but not pulseaudio

Wanderer/William,

Why not have a shortcut script that says apulse /usr/bin/firefox

Or wherever firefox is installed replacing /usr/bin

hi darry

apulse is activated with firefox
so it does not need to be started independently

but one has to not load pulseaudio
or it will interfere with apulse

but if you want to use firefox-esr
you will have to load pulseaudio
