Latest releases of Chromium

Post by Grey »

It is not always clear to people how to download fresh Chromium from chromium.org for testing or use.
You can get it from here: Chromium Downloads Tool. Click on 'Release Channel' and sort for example 'stable' versions.
And you can from Here. For example click on 'Archive' and download 'ungoogled-chromium with vaapi'.

Different devices. Different approach.

@Grey :-

Heh. That top entry (by "Marmaduke"), in the second of your links, is the fully VAAPI-enabled one that I now use to build the Ungoogled-Chromium-portables..... :thumbup:

Mike. ;)

i will have to admit that chromium runs absolutely superbly on my old 32bit computer.I was quite surprised actually and it outshines the other browsers in terms of performance,
I have a relatively old laptop and i have seen a noticeable difference in how different browsers work and function on here.
Firefox for some reason occasionally freezes my pup up solid.Chromium is rock solid stable with no issues even though i tend not to use chromium browsers permanently but i am leaning toward using chromium on a more regular basis.

palemoon has been a good browser to me on here too but struggles with some javascript heavy sites and as time goes on youtube will be a no go area for it.

I don't usually chop and change browsers like some users but i have found the chromium far more stable in most areas even though there could be some so called privacy issues but i tend to favour performance more.
