QEMU and startup options for some operating systems

Post by Grey »

Hello to everyone who uses QEMU and standard(for Puppy) QEMU GUI lancher. Fossapup runs perfectly in QEMU with the '-vga virtio' parameter. The running OS will use the 'virgl' renderer with 3D acceleration(Conky and terminal with transparency):

But ArtStudioX64 and MX Linux do not run in QEMU. What do they have in common? Yes, xfce. To make them work, you need to run them with the '-vga std' parameter. The renderer in this case will be 'llvmpipe' - without transparency, but operating systems with xfce will work:

Fossapup OS, Ryzen 5 3600 CPU, 64 GB RAM, GeForce GTX 1050 Ti 4 GB, Sound Blaster Audigy Rx with amplifier + Yamaha speakers for loud sound, USB Sound Blaster X-Fi Surround 5.1 Pro V3 + headphones for quiet sound.
