I also have XP on a dual-boot machine. Nothing wrong with that. I'll also use Windows 7 but no other Windows.

I have one machine with Windows 7, this is a hefty Acer Aspire 7560G laptop. But it also has Fossapup and Linux Mint installed. By the way, I have not been able to achieve that any of the Linux could use BOTH video cards AT ONCE. Windows 7 has a special driver, and there are two video cards - built-in and discrete, and both from AMD.

I voted 'No' but it isn't entirely true , depending on the definition of "use".

Occasionally I boot it to test sharing with Puppy, since I maintain a couple of Samba apps for Slacko and Raspup (and available to other Pups). I don't actually "use" it for anything otherwise productive.

That will be a No...depending how the examinator sees it. Geez, I hated the multi-choice questions in exams. Probably the most diffficult way of questioning because some are half-truths and some cnuts use it to trip you up.

I have a copy of Windows 7 (I think it is) on one of my laptops. I see it as a complete waste of space (aside from becoming archaic) nowadays. But I'm scared to delete it just in case something I need to use is not available on Linux... That used to be a more possible scenario - as time goes by I find that consideration is no longer valid at all for me so really I should just free up the disc space. I used to have similar Win7 on the laptop I normally use, but I'm always running out of space on that one, so Windows was scrubbed long ago (would have been auto-scrubbed later anyway since the original hard disc failed and took everything with it...).

@tosim me too, plus I use iTunes once in a great while to add/subtract music from an old iPod Nano I can use with the car's radio. I struggled to get gtkpod to work correctly. though I run Win10 on a 32 bit only machine and otherwise I run WeeDog32-Void or Bionic32 (upupBB) on it. Dell INSPIRON E1505

I moved to Linux when XP went EOL. For around 9 months, I alternated between XP and Ubuntu; when I finally migrated, and went all-Puppy, that was it.....I kicked Windoze into touch, and it hasn't sullied my hard drives since.

When I took delivery of this new HP midi-tower January last year, the very first thing I did was to boot a LiveCD of Slacko 570, and scour the Windoze 10 install from the drive with extreme prejudice. No way was it digging its smelly claws into my nice new hardware..!

Like ThruHammer, I don't "look down" on those that use it; why should I? I've always taken the view that you use whatever does the job, regardless of platform. Certain things Windoze simply does do better than Linux.....in many respects, however, Linux thrashes the pants off of Windoze, no two ways about it.

I'm in no position to talk; I may run Puppy-only, but I use a fair number of Windows apps under WINE.....mostly graphics apps that I got so handy with under XP I was pleased to find they mostly ran fuss-free under WINE, so I carried on with them.

For me, Puppy does everything I could want.....and it lets me do it with a lot more freedom of choice, too. (And a LOT more 'flair'..!)

At the end of the day, it's your hardware; use whatever works for you. There's no shame in that.

It runs in a VM on Fatdog host machines. So I use Windows every day, when I do, i'm using Linux

I'm usually in a browser, and The Web for me is Linux so I'm only in Windows for offline apps and special tasks like printing since I haven't tried ozsouth's Puppy printing advice yet.

Windows is always in the back of my mind for compatibility so I still use .zip over .gz and all the rest.

I occasionally use IRFANVIEW running under portable WINE in LXDE Bionicpup64 for printing, since it allows you to more precisely stretch and place images on a page. Wouldnt be without it, actually.

That was one of the two reasons I used to install WINE. The other was an old Windows rtf hierarchical note taking app called Keynote (I used KeynoteNF), which I was addicted to for a while (much like I am addicted to cherrytree now since it holds half my brain/memory). Just remembered I also used KeyNoteNF along with wonderful WordWeb local dictionary/thesaurus, which was fantastic program too. Goodness, I miss that now - maybe I'll need to install WINE... (on Linux, I used almost as good dictionary/thesaurus called 'Artha' but nowadays just google...)

I still miss KeynoteNF but cherrytree does all I need and maybe more (I just can't remember KeynoteNF abilities overall now, but it was great and ahead by miles of anything Linux could provide at the time I used it many years ago). As for IrfanView, nothing like it - I wouldn't be surprised if it is still the best for what it does - it was also great for preparing much smaller sized images for web use via various sophisticated plugin tricks. I suppose we could blame terrific wee Windows programs like these for keeping people from migrating to Linux... My dream is that, one day soonish, WeeDogLinux will keep people from migrating to any other Linux (hahaha)...

Oh, gee. Can't XnView or gThumb do this? If for such trifles we need Wine(ie Windows), then why do we need this Linux at all I don’t remember exactly, but there was such a joke... if we spend more than X hours a day in Wine, then we do not use Linux.
I realized that this happens on occasion. I just exaggerated slightly
