Changed modem to 5Ghz in error, how to change it back? (Solved)

Post by April »

I was fiddling with my modem looking for better speed and changed it to 5 Ghz . I don't have a 5Ghz radio adapter to connect to it now ,only 2.4Ghz . Many adapters don't work with Puppy and I am using xenialpup64-7.5 .

Is there a way I can connect to the modem to change it back ? 192.168 etc.
Can I use my phone maybe or does someone know a 5Ghz or Dual adapter that will work with xenialpup?

The Australian State Governments have all enacted laws to steal your assets on your death. All legal paperwork is binned and all assets seized on one disgruntled child's complaint.Move them well before you die or go into a home.

Hi
You can definitely log into your router with your phone. I have had to use that method before

Wish it worked . I just tried with 2 phones ,old though they may be ,and they only get the 2.4Ghz routers not 5Ghz. So no have not got it yet.

I think all modems have an Ethernet port for connecting to a computer. Mine have. If you connect a modem to a computer through an Ethernet cable, all you have to do to configure the modem from the computer is open a browser and enter the modem's IP address in the browser's address window, then enter the browser's password and Bob's your uncle. :)

yes, connect via ethernet port. Best way to manage the router.

Its a small OPTUS wifi type 3"x2" and 1/4 " thick .
No ethernet port on them .
