Maintaining the Wikka Pages - broken link found

Post by cobaka »

On the Puppy-Linux Wikka page: http://wikka.puppylinux.com/HowPuppyWorks

I find: Note, information on this page may be outdated. For the latest version see How Puppy Works http://www.puppylinux.com/development/howpuppyworks.html <<--- This link points to an empty biscuit bowl! --<<

Clicking on this link I found: The link is broken. Browser cannot find the server at barryk.org.

Fellow Puppians! Lend me your ears! Can anyone give me a link to either the original or an alternate functional description of 'how puppy works'

Thanks!
СОБАКА

Observation: Perhaps info displayed on the wiki page was copied from the broken link into the wiki but the link was not removed? Looks that way.

собака --> это Русский --> an old dog
"so-baka" (not "co", as in coast or crib).

@s243a

Here you go:

Thanks. Will post a corrected link.
Will compare the info on the wiki page with the info on Barry's page to determine next step in the process.
If BK's page is authoritative I suggest we keep only the link and remove the text on the Wiki page.

As a general principle, documentation should exist only in a single place. (See ISO900x, s4 (or maybe s5).
Note, however, that BK's description is not complete.

All the best from Australia,

I think the wikipage is fine. I wouldn't delete it. However, some things could be updated like adding info about "adrv" "ydrv: etc.

Hello @s243a

At the moment the Wiki is denying access.
I modified the link, replacing the 'null' pointer with a good one.
Some monitoring software thought I was a bandit and advised: banned!

Until I'm pardoned - nothing happens. (Thinks: Maybe President Trump will pardon me?)

All the best from Australia.

That page might be protected because it is kind of fundamental to puppy.Maybe try editing a different page.
