Well this was exactly what I was hoping for, a successful experiment! OK, years ago Slacko was my daily driver Puppy, then 01Micko sort of left it hanging. I was using Slacko 6.3.2 32 bit, and I stumbled across Peebee's ScPups, which have served me quite well and have formed the base for my daily driver Puppy. However, I kept Slacko 6.3.2 frugally installed, just rarely booted into it. The old Palemoon w/glibc219 tweak pet did offer some browsing, but was growing way long in the tooth, something like 5 major PM releases. So, even though I've read cautions about updating glibc libs, I decided to try it, downloaded and installed the Slackware 14.2 glibc 2.23 patches, installed them into Slacko, and voila! Next I used PPM to uninstall the old Palemoon 27.9.4 w/glibc tweak pet...then using Rox filer opened my HD folder, found the SFS I made for Newmoon 33.6.0 GTK2, clicked on that and installed it...and HERE I AM! Browsing in Slacko 6.3.2 32 bit, using Newmoon 33.6.0 (which is a rebuild of Palemoon 33.6.0)
SO, just to answer other users questions, YES, you can use older Puppys for some browsing on the modern web. However, due caution should be taken, in regards to banking, buying, etc anything involving financial transactions would be better undertaken in a more modern, more secure Pup!

My New Moon SFS has been updated based on Fenyo's New Moon 33.6.1 32 bit GTK2, built from PaleMoon
sources, runs with minimum GLIBC 2.19. See this topic for download link

Successful test in my frugal install of Slacko 6.3.2 32 bit using the updated SFS of New Moon 33.6.1 GTK2.
I've updated GLIBC in my Slacko to 2.23 by the way! Still life in this old Pup! Posted this message with it!
