Firefox freezing

Post by oliverjames »

I've been trying EasyOS as my daily driver but run into the issue of Firefox freezing. I typically have Firefox and another browser (Chromium in this case) running. I generally have multiple tabs open on each.
Firefox may be freezing because of high memory use.
Has anyone had this issue, and found a solution?

Thank you.

I'm running ver. 6.5.4 and here is some info on the system.

Firefox is known to have issues with GPU acceleration.
Is video acceleration turned off in the settings?

Thank you. I have unticked the "use recommended performance settings" box

I'm using Firefox version 134 and have no freezing issues or any issues.

What browser extensions and add-on's are you using.

However I should add that I use these on Mint, MX, and Fedora without any problem arising.

I'd try turning one off at a time and see if that changes anything.

As for working on Linux Mint that's a whole different disto compared to Easy OS.

No script has caused issues for me in the past.

Thanks, I'll keep that in mind but for the moment BarryK's suggestion seems to have done the trick.
