logged out while typing a reply again

Today i got logged out while typing a reply and adding an attachement.
This already happend a while ago, when i tried to reply with a quote.

Is there something i can do to prevent beeing logged out while typing or is it a bug in the forum software?

That has happened to me before as well. I am not sure if it is a sudden clearing of the login session cookies or something else. When it happens to me again I will make an effort to track down what is happening. Could be a combination of things and probably is something simple we're overlooking.

How long were you working on that post? The old forum originally had a timeout period of something like an hour. If nothing happened by then, it would log you out even if you were working on a post. It wouldn't know that until you sent the post. A lot of people complained, so the timeout period was increased to two hours and that seemed to solve the problem.

This has happened to me, but it seemed to be caused by the timeout period activating, when I was taking too long to finish typing a response and selecting submit.
I guess writing a response is not detected as activity on the forum.

Sounds quite possible...

At least yesterday i had the reply page open and minimized while editing and
testing one of the scripts i attached and taking a screenshot.

The admin should check this.

Check the admin area in the load settings

Namely under: Session length

The length of the session is set there. You may want to check and adjust it there.

I have increased the session timeout in small increments and lengthened the timeout value again.

Let's see how it goes.
