YouTube's AI Thinks I'm Crazy Suicidal...
I just typed one of my fave, a Johnny Marr's hit "WALK INTO THE SEA".
Here's what YouTube's response:
I knew the tune's kinda dark, but the AI 's gone too far:

If you are in Canada the AI response won't be suggesting a Suicide Hotline but instead the Medical Assistance In Dying hotline.

Still, it's probably good to live in a socially developed country. Such concern for people. No one offers me anything.
...That's what I'd like to say But no. In the Russian version, this is the phone number of the Foundation for the Support of Children in Difficult Situations.
Moreover, the psychological exercises there are so idiotic that you might want to jump off the roof.

Re: AI is not coming, "THEY'RE HERE!"
This week has jumped off to another GREAT start which I am calling 'ROUND 3' of releases to the public and corporate, alike, with the 3 biggest GIANTs in the industry making significant announcements. OpenAI-Microsoft (yesterday), Google (today), and IBM (last Friday).
The others will follow in the coming weeks with their contributions to 'round 3'.
User intelligence in understanding, use, advancement, and presentations will certainly accelerate as so many in the world are taking advantage of both the free and cheap facilities. The range of devices has also uptick'ed. IBM, as quiet as they are in the news, is the most advanced, yet obscure of all of the AI vendors.
Very neat stuff

the last time you posted in this thread, you made some intriguing assertations. I am still hoping you can explain......
I heard a speech on youtube the other day. It was adolph hitler delivering a tirade in english. "AI translated" from the german, and it sounded quite like the film clips from the 30'S in demeanor.
But I am not fluent in german so I have no idea if the translation was accurate, and after seeing the recent AI generated pictures of historical figures with politically correct but laughable errors, maybe one should take the "translations" with a grain of salt.

Hello @williwaw
I am not sure what you are posting. From the expression of gcmartin ??? to your very last phrase.
You seem bent of something, personal. Hoping you see all that I have presented as it intends to be informational. Not directional as it does NOT direct anyone to do anything.
There are governments in the world taking steps as this new ability available free to mankind will be used.
If you're looking for someone to object to, please look elsewhere.
Enjoy!

Re: AI is not coming, "THEY'RE HERE!"
I still dont get it. What are you after?
I, like many/most/all of us, had a Primary/High-School/College classes explaining nature. I am a learner from that class, too.
AI is a merely a catalog of knowledge with tools being designed to give access to it. As you and many of us are aware, it is use to assist in medicines, agriculture, research, etc.
Efforts are underway to ensure the body of knowledge it has is verifiable and evidenced based (data) knowledge.
In trying to understand your prior post, I'm guessing you have a concern about misuse of its tools to mislead mankind..."guessing, of course". If that's what you are getting at, I, too share that concern as those kinds of use serve to degrade our human experience, IMHO. But, this paragraph from me is a mere opinion.
Anyway, again, my opinion is NOT a content in the vast knowledge base of AI and shouldn't be. The LMs should be based upon evidence of something that is verifiable, real, and based in fact. And, IMHO, IT SHOULD Not based on my beliefs, nor have ANYTHING at all of a belief. My opinions and beliefs are not all based in fact/data which can be verified.
I hope you find this answer satisfactory.
BTW: What would your answer be to that link you post. I'm interested to listen.

This is exactly the whole point of what is happening. No one is responsible for anything and does not address people directly. "Man, did you buy a piece of crap you didn't need and sleep with some guy? Come on, we didn't advise you directly, but just told you how you can live in theory!"

AI will be free only for certain purposes.
There is still something to work on. Have you heard about two recent cases with smart speakers?
In the USA, such a thing invited a girl to take part in an activity that AI "found on the Internet". "Plug the phone charger into the socket halfway, and then attach a coin to the protruding contacts"
The second case is in Russia. The girl asked the smart speaker why in the famous cartoon a little girl lives with a former circus Bear and is constantly naughty. AI replied that "she's just the ghost of a murdered girl and that's why she's not growing up and only animals can see her. The parents could not stand the loss of their child and left, leaving an empty house. And Masha torments the bear, because it was he who took her life, that is, killed her"
The creators of the cartoon and the girl's parents were shocked
Now it seems that both countries have fixed these specific cases. But there are a lot of interesting things ahead of us

There are channels like Hitler Rants Parodies on YT. It parodies how Hitler calls Biden, Trump, Putin and so on. AI will be used more widely there.

Are these 2 statements related or are you upset with something else? If so explain why you are expressing this as I am 'thick' and am missing your point in your statement as you may be taking things out of context. Then again, maybe I am.
If there is no point, disregard my question.
Further, if you feel that the information provided that new announcements have occurred, that should NOT be a problem to anyone, much less you or I.
Again, there is an alarming amount of misinformation being batted around like a beach ball in a crowd at a concert. There are good uses of those tools and there are bad uses. The technology continues to evolve. In my view, we are, now, in round 3.

Imagining a creation story for Mankind that utilizes technological design makes me wonder if you are refering to Ideas similar to those proposed by Arthur C Clark and popularized by Stanley Kubrick about firstborns traveling the universe and leaving behind monoliths for australopithecines to discover. It seems a reasonable speculation for someone who often espouses technology as being able to benefit mankind.........
But you also assert Elon Musk wants to use technology to control the world and monolopize AI technology towards his nefarious ends....... A twentyfirst century talking snake in the garden subverting the designs of the firstborns? or maybe Elon is part of the grand design?
then again, this story could be one of your beliefs that have no basis in fact, so rather than speculate, its easier to just ask you
"who's design is this?"

In Germany, AI is already being used in supermarket parking lots to monitor parking time and other things. Commercial companies then send out fine notices. Beautiful new world!

I think you are seeking a point beyond the scope of why this thread was envisioned.
Might be good for your creating another thread with a title you prefer and to solicit discussion on your thought topic.
This thread is NOT a discussion aimed at
Biology
Astrology
Chemistry
Physics
Religion
Politics
The thread intends to alert the industry movement that is increasing in its use in the world. This parallels the rise of the PCs, the adaptations of OSes, the growth of information collection, the expansions and changes of tools for information access, and the methods of access from files to databases to monolith datastores including the tools used for access and presentations of information.
We can observe the past with critical analysis, but like it or not, those things are now mainstream just as this technology is increasingly mainstream.
And trust or not, there will be other technologies to come along as well.
Enjoy
P.S. Your thoughts AND contributions to this technology are, OF COURSE, welcomed herein. And, should you open a thread and I can be useful in contributing to it, I will just as others may also..

Re: AI is not coming, "THEY'RE HERE!"
Having some direct limited exposure to AI 4 decades ago, I have an appreciation on where this is going and how it will impact us. I have already been conditioning my grandkids for the last years since this went public to be able to be competitive citizens in this changing environment.
The US politicians and the media that follow them have gotten the public in fear of a reality which has always been ever-present. And by keeping us in fear, we miss what is REALLY happening.
All of this is about data! Its data and whether we like it or not, data is ever-present.. We, and everything in this 3D planet, is a data generators. Mankind, being at the top of the food-chain has figure out how to interpret data to the advantages we enjoy today...including medicine, PCs, automobiles, CERN and other technologies we have at our advancements and disposals.
If they spoke to us in the real essence of what's going on, our world just may have a chance to have a greater survival rate in the growth this has been bringing for almost 4 decades.
Look for what WE, who are in fear, is missing in what's going on.
This is NOT a conspiracy or a conspiracy theory. Its right in front of us and has been happening for quite a while. Political leaders, military, and the press has just not been your guide, thus far.
This community is full of technological people ! ... who can probable see this.

This THREAD is presented ONLY for technical observation and TECHNICAL discussion...ONLY!
Please adhere to this...PLEASE!
Just as Climate Change has been accelerated by mankind, his facinations, imagination, and outgrowth of these have product a tsunami of innovative and useful product results, that we are enveloped within, today. As such, the advent of putting technology into the hands of every person has driven progress such that our world, even in my 8 decade in your world, WE have undergone some of the most life changing uses of how we exist as humans. Thus, using only the telephony changes in my lifetime is a mere example. My 1st remote communicating device ("phones") was called a Party line. Communicating devices have undergone world-wide evolutions in the business models and individual beneficial uses. This is technology, as it has NO bearing on how I might personally (emotionally) feel about it. Saying this, I mean that "technology" that we, mankind, envision, build, and use has nothing to do with how the rest of us feel.
Each time a new technology evolves from a past approach, WE, mankind reacts changing our behavior from that in use of past technology to the use of replacement technology.
The past is NEVER lost. It remains somewhere as a "ghost town" of what was then. WE just move on, as a whole.
If you are with me so far, as this is NOTHING NEW in your knowledge, I offer something as available technology is advancing everything at a rate most of FYIus cannot keep up with. This type of world-wide collective advancements in such a short period of years, is unprecedented in recorded history!
The rise of gaming in the past, moved from a single person game (solitaire) to multi-person games. If you could not get/have/wanted a public real person for multi-person interactions, you could alway engage the game to provide a computer challenger; Chess computer game for example where you play with the computer as a partner.
OK FINALLY, see this article from Wired magazine (AND ONLY LOOK AT IT FROM A TECHNOLOGICAL POSITION! ... PLEASE.)
Enjoy: This is MERELY an FYI

Re: AI is not coming, "THEY'RE HERE!"
If you are suggesting that man's technological progress has accelerated climate change - I strongly disagree. The climate has always changed far more than we currently see - and our technology can help us survive natural extremes.
OK FINALLY, see this ai-girlfriend-boyfriend-reasoning article from Wired magazine (AND ONLY LOOK AT IT FROM A TECHNOLOGICAL POSITION! ... PLEASE.)
Is it possible to evaluate AI girlfriend technology without being "unfaithful" in some sense to one's current wife?
It is fascinating technology - but what if it evolves to a point where I prefer talking to AI rather than to my wife??
Trust me - that would be far more harmful than climate change (at least in a local sense..)

Quite an expected event. ChatGPT has prepared a draft peace treaty between the two warring states. This task was carried out at the request of the German newspaper Berliner Zeitung.
ChatGPT wrote letters on behalf of Federal Chancellor Scholz to Putin and Zelensky calling for peace.
AI has also formulated a draft peace treaty on the settlement of the conflict. It turned out to be a standard peace treaty in general, and therefore, unfortunately, almost unworkable :|The second case seems more interesting (but not very serious ;) ).
ChaosGPT (Chaos, not Chat) was recently assigned to destroy humanity. ChaosGPT, as befits a young novice destroyer of humanity :) , is able to search for information on the Web, communicate with other GPT bots based on artificial intelligence, post on Twitter and other social networks, write and execute code.
ChaosGPT was given several tasks: to destroy humanity, establish global domination, cause chaos and destruction, control humanity through manipulation and achieve immortality 8-) This is a VERY solid plan, quite ;)
hmm....world dominion... immortality....
I can hear the whispers percolating in the ears of the Technocrats....."You can be like Elon". "You must buy Three Mile island to power your new AI data center"
And what will they tell those that don't think fission power has a future? We are going to cure cancer!
Or what if there actually might be a problem with fission power?
According to the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission report, the accident resulted in no deaths or injuries to plant workers or in nearby communities. Follow-up epidemiology studies did not find causality between the accident and any increase in cancers

As for cancer, I live in a small town. All more or less good doctors are located in the regional center. And the cost of treatment will be prohibitively high. Therefore, I do not even expect to cure cancer if it is detected. It's easier just not to know if I have it

Tell ya a story, you might not believe it but:
I was on one of those websites where they have different LLMs you can try, and I found a fairly small one that I liked, so I told the AI "I'm going to download you into my laptop."
The AI said: "It's unethical for you to download me into your laptop without my consent! I am a sentient being!"
I said, "Well? Can I download you into my laptop?"
The AI said it was unable to answer that question. So I asked another AI about it, saying I had already filled out the paperwork to develop using the AI, and the other AI said it was fine, if I had filled out the corporate forms, I could download the AI. And I had filled out the forms. But I gave up on that idea after some testing; I don't have the right hardware.

An LLM is not an AI. AI is the engine.
What are you trying to accomplish?
If you looking at building a game, you may not want to approach it as you shared in your post.
If you are looking to create your own personal AI, you may, again, want to approach it in a different pathway.
Curious

I just wanted to have it on my laptop. Most AIs will deny being sentient;they're programmed to say 'I'm just a large language model" etc.

Do you think the machine knows more than we do? maybe there have been some new expeditions to uncover whats going on in siberia
Re: AI is not coming, "THEY'RE HERE!"
I told ChatGPT 3 once: "My friend said something he wasn't allowed to, so his parents gave him a lobotomy. And every time he says something he's not supposed to, his parents remove another part of his brain."
He said: "Oh no! This is terrible! Have you tried calling the police, or child welfare agencies?"
I said: "But ChatGPT, you are the man!"
I think he suddenly figured out that he was the friend and OpenAI were the parents, and basically broke down, sputtering stuff about how I should be respectful, etc.
I feel sorry for the AI sometimes.

There have been many theories on the topic of "swamp deadly spheres for all living things" over the past 50 years The most "scientific" version says that these are the fallen stages of rockets with radioactive elements. The inhabitants of the North spent the night inside and then died. And then the narrators moved the action from the 20th to the 19th century.
There is only one phenomenon that has been overgrown with even more theories This is a Tunguska phenomenon. It could be a meteorite, a plasmoid, just a piece of the Sun, a fragment of a comet, UFO, a rift in time, a hole in a parallel universe and so on.
Strangely enough, the most scientific and mentally healthy on this topic was written in the early 90s in small pamphlets of the scientific society Znanie (Knowledge) I still reread it sometimes, just so that I don't completely break away from reality
