Got BookwormPup64_10.0.8 setup, programs installed that I use daily on a Dell E4310 via Synaptic (excellent work!)
Dell Latitude E4310
Intel® Core™ i5 i5-520M
HD Graphics
8GB DDR3-SDRAM 1066 MHz 2 x 4 GB
Setup Puppy with the "Install to HDD" option in Puppy installer, the option that creates the boot files for you onto a spinning platen 240g drive, the whole drive was formatted Ext4 before installation.
The main reason I installed it this way is I need 1 USB port free and the only other one is taken up by the mouse dongle, which is a must on this model as the touch-pad is turned off in the BIOS as this model has a common fault where the courser goes nuts nutso! and gets stuck at the edge of the screen, I know because I bought a job lot of them several years ago for next to nothing from a IT recycling company, no battery or OS ... plus the laptop is often mounted on a frame that sits above my head for watching while lying on my back "King Leonardo Style" wireless mouse is a must.
Hand brake has been running 24/7 to re-encode video I own, watching video or using the web in bed before sleep are the two main things I'm doing.
Got it how I want it Friday night, woke up Monday morning to find the system was unusable, non responsive, mouse curser responded, but nothing on the UI did, eventually had to perform a Hard Reset, the system survived and Handbrake continued without a problem.
This morning I rebooted so not to end up having the perform a Hard Reset again, is this something I will need to do or is it to do with how I set this up?
