Post by rockedge »

According to Google Search report for the month of September we have had 876,000 page impressions and views of the Forum and it's contents.

Not sure where this ranks but it got us a golden trophy

This is the traffic coming from Google search itself:

That is very good news!

I hope Bing(bot) and Google(bot) are not part of that total.

They seem to always be accessing the forum.

The things you do not tell us, are usually the clue to fixing the problem.
When I was a kid, I wanted to be older.
This is not what I expected :o

@bigpup Those results are from Google's analytics themselves with all of the bot access subtracted!

They email me once a month with our different sites performances for that previous particular month. :geek:

The search engine bots make this site easily available all over the planet, downside = lots of bandwidth.

Congratulations Rockedge - there is some kind of 'Puppy Vibe' going on.
I had not used Puppy since 4.3.1 and am running BW64 .7 exclusively since
a few months ago. The friendly and helpful forum is mentioned frequently about Puppy.
If you all could just concentrate on getting one version as perfect as possible
instead of diluting the effort with so many versions.

Does searches from our pSearch are counted to this? Or only searches from main google.com (or .pl/.eu/.us ets.) are counted?

Do you have statistics as to the number of queries depending on the domain?

At work, I access the forum via google (i'm lazy to write url myself). I don't have the forum url in browser bookmarks at work. From friends' computers the same. I've added a little to these statistics ;)

Hi, @puppy_apprentice :

Usually there is a missunderstanding when people try to understand google information about a site, because usually only SEOs understand this information the appropriate way.

People made errors when talking about CLICKS and IMPRESSIONS, because they consider them as similar and they are completely different.

In web analytics, particularly when using tools like Google Analytics or Google Search Console, clicks and impressions are two key metrics that track user interaction with your website in search results but they are as different as day and night and they must be considered this way;

Google Impressions:
An impression is counted whenever a URL from your site appears in a search result page, regardless of whether the user actually sees or interacts with it.

If your website appears in the search engine results page (SERP) for a given query, that counts as an impression, even if the user does not scroll down far enough to see it or click on it (and as you know users can modify the number of results tha appears on google page one, so the result can fake your possition too).

For instance; If your site appears on page one of a Google search, every time someone searches for a related term and your page is listed, you get an impression. than only mean position and it is really easy to obtain with the adecuate keyworks when designing a site.

Google Clicks:
A click (as its name indicate) occurs when a user really clicks on your website link from the search results page (SERP).
his metric is more directly tied to user engagement, as it means the user found your website listing relevant enough to visit your page.
Example: If someone searches for a term, sees your website listed in the results, and clicks on the link to visit your site, that's a click (and this is when SEOs put emphasis in obtain clicks, not impressions, jajaj... and when they didn't desing correctly a site, they must go to GOOGLE pay per CLICK to obtain visits).

Key Difference:

Impressions measure visibility**—they indicate how often your site appears in search results and its is not difficult to increase.
Clicks measure engagement**—they show how many users clicked on your website from the search results and to obtain good results on clicks, SEOs must work hardly.

=> These metrics help you understand your site's performance in organic search. Of course they must be correctly interpreted, because a high number of impressions with relatively few clicks could suggest that while your site is visible, your title or description might need optimization to improve click-through rates (CTR) or it is possible you should think about the reason that makes users don't to click on your page link.

We can talk during hours-days-moths about strategies to increase clicks and position but I think it could be boring.

Have a nice day u all

Ahhh... only one more thing.... All these results can be faked (so consider them this way)

Have a nice day u all.-

CHEERS.

Added.- Just for curiosity....

Some Google Ranking Criteria which influence clicks and impressions (And they are changed from time to time, so your work could goes directly to the bin....)
