Unable to log into ebay from F96-CE4

i would like to try ~CE3 as it might solve a 3 week old problem. vis: i go to ebay.com.au and enter my username. this opens an Am I human? window
i click yes and get CAPTCHA images.

none of the images match, even after >30 trys. can't login, no contact us anywhere, so i can't get them to fix it. my firefox is 118.x.xesr a red warning says use the latest browser or another browser, i do, but nothing seems to work.

i suspect CE4 has a ebay-firefox login flaw i can't fix. pls make it available. thx and yes, having reset zoom on each new site IS bad.

3weeks ago, this worked normally, but someone did something and ruined it. nb i normally sleep with hand on mouse and pc running. i'm going to error check my download, then start a new savefile, just in case

More likely your firefox-esr, version 118.x, is out of date/no longer sufficiently current to be accepted by ebay. Esr is now up to 128.3. And ebay is getting finicky. Just tried to login and discovered it now requires 2 factor authentication. I'm on my desktop in the basement with spotty wifi but will try again later from my laptop near the router.

Later. I'm back. Just logged into ebay using esr 128.3 from my laptop running F96.

p.s. I didn't have firefox esr on my laptop. Downloaded Mikewalsh's portable linked from here, viewtopic.php?p=37559&sid=d66c56c41cef2 ... 535#p37559, and updated it.

Took me a bit to work that out. It is referring to the current F96-CE version being CE4 vs the prior version CE3.

i have 128.3-does not work now. i've spent the night setting up a new savefile, [by o'writing existing files into a new save fie, but finaly crated new save file, the went back to bionic and cut a pasted /opt/f* ] which did work on ebay briefly, but no longer. will try new esr file and hope. i can't figure this out and perhaps ebay has put in some AI that remembers and kills 'bad' logins? locking customers out-really good for business !.

128.3 shows as esr. if true then i suspect ebay have caused my troubles, and they don't help linux users, so I doubt Ill get anywhere. at least i have my android tablet now. anyone got a phone number for ebay sydney help?

I have no trouble with eBay using F96-CE, I use the latest Firefox 131 as an sfs

I am running F96-CE4 now and no problem with ebay. May want to watch this.
