Copy the SAVE (backup) while the WoofCE is running?

Post by Clarity »

I seem to remember that their are dangers in doing this.

I am ONLY interesting in preserving (backup) the session that was captured-used at boot to desktop. Am interested in backup of the complete session folder.

Do the present day PUPs have a utility to do so in its menu?

Curious

There is no problem if you want to just copy the save folder for example to another partition. You can not move the save folder since the puppy is using it.

@gychang Thanks. I'll rsync copy the active session folder to another folder somewhere else. Everything in the folder, sub-folders, files and links will preserve: Correct?

Thanks AGAIN @gychang for the idea and info.

Although this may seem elementary, its important to me to know that I have the ability, at any time, to execute a copy operation on the save that existed when the session was started and that the integrity of the contents are maintained.

AS I remember, now, my concern dates back to the days when this forum was discussing whether NTFS could be used for saving session. Thus that discussion is unrelated to the ability to copy or backup a session folder on a Linux drive.
