Hello ill try to keep this post brief so it isnt much of a bother to anyone, so about 2 days ago i remembered that i have an old lenovo thinkpad that was runnin windows, so i try to boot it up and it doesnt load past the title so i get this pendrive that i have laying aroun and put puppylinux so i can use it in my old laptop,after doing this i remember that my hard drive is filled to the brim with pirated games and movies wich probably means it has a virus and is the reason windows doesnt load properly so i delete everything inside it wich includes the installation of windows, now that you are more aware of the situation that im in i would like to ask for help, i need help figuring out almost everything but for now i would like to check my laptops battery health and make the hard drive that is now free the one in wich i save my stuff. Thanks for reading my first forum post and please comment any tips beacause i have no experience with linux.

Welcome again @Will_Shok !, better don't be brief, any detailed info about what you tried (or what you'd wish) can be valuable for getting any help.

Start with:
-Make and model of computer
-CPU and amount of ram, if you know it.
-Puppy version (the name of the ISO file) you installed on your USB
Thanks

Re: Newcomer to Linux with some questions
Yeah of course! its a lenovo thinkpad t430s wich my parents bought as a gift around 2017 from what i have been able to find using my limited knowledge of the terminal it has a Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-3320M CPU @ 2.60GHz and 3637 MB of ram, i would aslo like to add that it has gone through a lot of abuse due to my foolish ways of using the internet and computers in the past, from what i recall i had spend nights with it on trying to dowload games wich couldnt run on such limited hardware, i have spilled water on it atleast twice and when i found it again 2 days ago it was dirty with dust and old food crumbs, i have cleaned the outside but havent gotten to the inside quite yet because i am scared i will fuck it up more than it already is.It has held up like a tank wich is why i am trying to give new life to it. I forgot about the puppylinux iso it was named this (F96-CE_4)

@Will_Shok
The Thinkpads are rugged machines and do well with Linux, your T430 should run about any Puppy version you choose.
We still need to know:
-Puppy version (the name of the ISO file) you installed on your USB
Thanks

Probably this discussion will better fit in the F96-CE section ? https://forum.puppylinux.com/viewforum.php?f=197
