Problem uploading image files to the forum

Post by Governor »

@rockedge

I have not had this problem until very recently and I have no idea what is causing it.
It is the same problem with both Firefox and Palemoon.

When I try to upload a file that is 182 KB, I get an error message:
The file is too big, maximum allowed size is 537 KiB.

If 537 KiB = 549.888 KB, then 182 KB = 177.73438 KIB, and there should be no problem.
Any suggestions?

what is the exact name of the file?

You just tried it and it is not working?

There has been some updates to the forum, so you may have found a bug.

Seems to be working OK for me, but I have more abilities than you do for posting.
So I am not a good test.

The things you do not tell us, are usually the clue to fixing the problem.
When I was a kid, I wanted to be older.
This is not what I expected :o

@Governor In the past I have had some problems with .png images uploading to the forum. But sometimes the uploads work.

I will need to see the file itself to determine the path to take to solve the issue

@Governor In the past I have had some problems with .png images uploading to the forum. But sometimes the uploads work.

I will need to see the file itself to determine the path to take to solve the issue

Filename: "Sdc drive shows blank in ROX-1+2.png" (181.2 KB)
I can't say how long I can keep the file on this server, but here it is:
https://digioh.com/em/3651/195612/39xjn6j28b

This is not the first time I had this issue.
The image I posted here:
https://forum.puppylinux.com/viewtopic.php?t=12551

gave the same message. I had to reduce the image quality and size so much that the text on the image is nearly unreadable, in order to upload it. This was with Palemoon.

PS. Funny that the reported file size is different is every medium I checked so far.

I can upload the .png image but it will result in 2 copies like shown:

Screenshot(6).jpg
Screenshot(6).jpg (10.91 KiB) Viewed 211 times

I then delete the image.png and attached the remaining Sdc drive shows blank in ROX-1+2.png as shown below:

Sdc drive shows blank in ROX-1+2.png
Sdc drive shows blank in ROX-1+2.png (213.93 KiB) Viewed 211 times

I will have to look into this doubled upload and if the image.png is an artifact left over from a temporary file? Not sure but I will check into it.
meanwhile convert .png to .jpg to upload as attachments.
