If you go here:
https://www.seamonkey-project.org/
Download the latest version for Linux, which most likely is what is already setup to do by clicking download now
. (This will be the 64bit version).
If you need a 32bit version
or a specific language version.
Select Other Systems & Languages
under the Download Now.
Select to download it to a location.
Example install:
Navigate to where you downloaded the file: seamonkey-2.53.18.2.en-US.linux-x86_64.tar.bz2
(I picked US version). Latest version at this time.
UN-compress it using some program for doing this. (I used PExtract or UExtract programs).
In the directory created from UN-compressing will be a directory seamonkey with all the files in it.
Place this seamonkey directory in /opt/
Menu Entries
To have menu entries for Seamonkey and the different programs in it.
Download and install this pet package
provided by dogcat
After installing.
Some Puppy versions may require running:
Code: Select all
fixmenus
in a terminal to get menu entries to show up.
Note:
The menu entries are setup for Seamonkey directory to be located in /opt/
To do internal updates.
In this version of Seamonkey under Help is check for updates
.
That should be how to now keep it updated.
