slow download... with latest VP

Post by gychang »

I have ethernet with 1G speed, compared to other pups, download and install of apps are very slow, using vpm install synapse xterm took more than 1 hr. I have synced and updated first...
Is there a fix?

Wow, that is odd. Wonder why that took so long?

@gychang

Try switching the default location for your access to the repositories:

https://forum.puppylinux.com/viewtopic.php?t=12298

There is a US (Chicago) based Tier1 link for the software, it syncs and updates every hour

https://mirrors.servercentral.com/voidlinux/

or you can use a Tier2 server in California

https://mirror.vofr.net/voidlinux/
