Is there any program to record music? (SOLVED with StreamTuner 2)

Hello everybody:

As you know I use gtk radio to listen to radio stations, and when I wanna record music I use the option included with this software.

This option doesn't work with all radio stations, so I want to know if there is some software for EasyOS that record the sound emited by speakers, so I can obtain sound files of all origin.

That is: "Is there any software for EasyOS that can record all the sounds emitted by the speakers? I would like to use it to record music of all kinds played on the internet, including from GTK Radio." Could it be an option to be included with then next update @BarryK ??

Thanks @don570 , I read barry post, but I dont like to use Streamtunner because it doesn't work correctly for me.

So Streamripper2 doesn't solve my problem.

You could try an Audacity portable or installation of it. I use it record from YRadio

Gave up in my search for something Linuxy and simple and have had
to use Audacity -which I've used a lot but has an overkill of complex controls.

FFmpeg sounded good but I am too lame to get it running.

To be honest, I'm no longer sure of the status of these pets, but might still be working. A similar (audio-only) alternative is Precord, but I can't remember where that pet is posted on the forum any more.

wex continues to be used in various X-based KL distros and seems to work fine, but it has been actively maintained for that assortment of distros. I didn't see wex getting used much elsewhere, except DebianDog for a while at least, so didn't check for additional maintenance that might be needed.

(assuming EasyOS is using plain alsa, not pulseaudio or pipewire (edit: btw, I didn't test it on EasyOS) ).

All versions of audacious in SLC64 and SLK64 have been compiled with streamripper support enabled. This feature is working without problems.
Did a test of your posted list of radio stations. Recording without problems as expected

First of all, many thanks to all of you for your suggestions, but until mid-September, I will be away from home and unable to try them out. Perhaps even before then, Barry might include it as an option in an update. However, I don't find it very appealing to have to use a couple of utilities together to be able to record. I'll let you know. Regards.

Audacious in EasyOS has the FileWriter plugin, just like your photo.

Your post that Streamripper support is not enabled by default is wrong, streamtuner is not enabled:

With your help and testing I can record the radio stations I like.

How to do this in easyos? (I will explain it better when I'm not so busy)

I used streamtuner 2 (included by default in EasyOs)

I added the radio-stations I like

I marked them as favourites (bookmarks)

Then, when recording you must do this, change the visualization to INTERFAZ GTK and configure it (really easy)

Now you can record

nice to hear that you found your solution.
I don't want to hijack the thread but I would like to show you an alternatively way because you are using audacious.
It's not needed to have the audacious version with included streamtuner support because it's very simple to create a playlist of your favorite radio stations.

1st open your webbrowser and type https://streamurl.link/
2nd type the name of a radio station you like, After that click search button
3rd if your radio station has been found, click the icon to copy stream URL to the clipboard
4th launch audacious => File => Add URL, now you can hear and record this station using audacious
5th you can add stations as much as you want. Now click Playlist => Export and save the playlist as my_playlist.pls (example)

I don't think the OP's request has been 'Solved.'
He wanted some app to record audio from his speakers,
ie from anywhere. (me too) Isn't this solution only for stations on GTX
that will not record with its onboard recording/red button ?
What about off some video on an internet news station?
or internet streaming podcasts etc. ?

I use this script which uses FFMPEG in Bookwormpup64. A lot easier to record sound when Pulseaudio is operational.

The trick is to get the correct sound monitor:
