Compiling applications? [SOLVED]

Post by Jasper »

Hi there

Can someone confirm that Void Linux is a usr-merge kernel?

Also, the default/standard compiling script suggests

./configure --prefix=/usr/local

For FossaPup64 and JammyPup64 I have always used

./configure --prefix=/usr

Is this simply because they are Debian/Ubuntu based?

You can select either as the location. Some Ubuntu/Debian packages when compiled will use /usr/local as default. Same in VoidPup's.

Void Linux and KLV's employ the usrmerge schema BUT VoidPup uses non-usrmerge kernels.
