Changing the kernel in BookwormPup64 What kernel works?

Post by bigpup »

If I wanted to change the kernel in BookwormPup64.

What kernels, listed in the Additional Software ->Kernels, would work or should work?
viewforum.php?f=65

Do they need to be ones identified as having overlayfs?

Anything else needed about the kernel?

The things you do not tell us, are usually the clue to fixing the problem.
When I was a kid, I wanted to be older.
This is not what I expected :o

For Bookwormpup64, kernels must be USRMERGE & capable of OVERLAYFS. If kernel is both aufs/overlayfs capable, will need to specify punionfs=overlay in linux line of grub .cfg. I list these things when I post a kernel. ALSO, kbuild .sfs must be disabled before boot (I add .no to end), and original kernel's compiling feature will be unavailable (need to use devx & new kernel's sources/headers). And finally, if there is a ....initmodules.txt file from a previous boot, must be deleted before booting new kernel. My kernels that are usrmerge & aufs/overlayfs have aoum in filename. I recommend keeping original fdrv.
