When I go to : https://github.com/peabee/releases/rele ... anded=true

The time line says 8 days or 2 days or as of now, yesterday, and the date of the ISO changes, as of now 230609 -

So I'm guessing you are updating in some way, although I can't understand what -

The occasional Github builds of BionicPup32 & FocalPup32 & JammyPup32 (& S15Pup32/64 & VoidPup32/64) will incorporate:

- Ubuntu updates to components (or Slackware or Void)

- Woof-CE updates (e.g. the latest has a BusyBox update)

- kernel updates

- less often - build updates as recorded in Github commits

@ peebee

Thank you for the information you gave, helpful -

The link you offered will allow me to decide as to whether a fresh download is needed -

We live in two different worlds -

You, the developer / maintainer -

Me, the end user, emphasis on user -

Hence the beneficial interest in whether or not to 'upgrade' -

Although bearing in mind the age of my laptop, there will be a cut off point as to compatibility -

Best regards

I made an alternative initrd.gz for this Puppy. This invokes a lot of additional drives you can use. Can be extremely useful if you have lots of RAM and everything copied to RAM at bootup (so you can operate completely in RAM). So you can make additional drives for the software you want to load at bootup.
Notes:
1. This initrd.gz replaces the initrd.gz that comes with the distribution.
2, The new name of the distribution is jammy_jellyfish so you need to rename the puppy files accordingly, eg: puppy_jammy_jellyfish.sfs; adrv_jammy_jellyfish.sfs, etc.
3. You can see in /etc/DISTRO_SPECS which addiditional drives can be loaded.

I just built a JammyPup32 with the official designation upupjj+d-22.04.iso on local machine setup successfully using woof-CE updated to the very latest commits. (I'm pretty sure....)

Now running on a 32bit QEMU VM hosted by a F96-CE_4, it looks ready for some testing and breakage detection.

I'm treating these frequent releases as Betas. Clearly needs some work for final user release IMHO. There should be a CE in my view which can update say every 3 months. This will ensure proper user feedback from CE release to CE release. Back to using Bionic32.

Noticed JWM mouse scroll wheel window shading is disabled. Is this intentional?

Given up on this Puppy, can't connect to my hidden wifi network. Bionic works fine, so I'll stay with Bionic.

Never mind, I just needed to reboot for the modules to work.

Frugal Install from the iso made a few days ago,

Dunst is not notifying network changes, specifically when I use a VPN, for example , Fossa's dunst notifies the change from wlan1 to tun0, it is a really nice feature to have. It is a visual cue to the user to know if a connection to the VPN service was successful

Hello.

I installed the release-240125.
glxinfo and glxgears return an error message.
I installed libglx-mesa0_20.3.5-1 (bullseye) and the error disappeared.
By default, libglx-mesa0_23.0.4 is installed, but isn't this a case of misconfiguration?

Another thing I notice is that hardinfo reports that my machine does not have a battery.
In reality the battery exists and is usable. I am afraid that the version of hardinfo installed is too old.

Edit:
The problems stated above have been fixed in the release-240127. Thanks.

Newbie question, I guess, but....I've never had the least bit of trouble running puppies from a USB stick, but not one of peebee's puppies will run. I always get a screen under GRUB4DOS 0.4.A6a saying

find /menu.lst, /boot/grub/menu.lst, /grub/menu.lst
command line
reboot
halt

This appears for just a moment, and I cannot hit enter fast enough to choose any options. The computer then boots into Bionic 32 from the internal drive.

It's an old machine--an eee pc 900, with 2 gigs of ram and an 80 gig SDD. But everything else runs easily and pretty fast. What can I do?

On, I got lazy, did a frugal install from within my Bionic installation. It runs really well, surprisingly fast on my 16-year-old eeepc, and today Firefox updated itself and kept on running. I can't get Sylpheed to work so used Claws, and Slimjet 27 runs but won't connect to the internet when everything else does. But I'm quite pleased with it, and expect I could even do some lightweight legal research and writing when I'm on the road.

Thanks, Frisbee works. Strange that Network Wizard does not like with Bionic. Something must have changed.

pEqualizer not working correctly (looks like it's working but no change to sound when moving sliders). I think it's the same issue as with Fossa9.5 which I managed to fix. I'll see if I can fix it and then post a pet with the changes...

Attached a pet to fix the pequalizer issue. Note that pequalizer must run BEFORE you use your media player. Also attached a script to make pequalizer "universal" which means that it will operate system wide (not only when you use the media player but also otherwise like playing sound online, youtube , etc.). Place this script (remove fake gz extension) in /root/Startup. Note that if you have the script in the Startup folder it will not be necessary to start pequalizer from menu after bootup, however you will need to start pequalizer from menu if you want to make changes to the sound levels.

Yes, that's the one. In the mean time I'm using the builtin mpv player which actually works very well for my IPTV Streams. I also see celluloid (a frontend for mpv) in the menu but it's not installed?
