I strongly suggest not to replace it with something else.

The things you do not tell us, are usually the clue to fixing the problem.

This is not what I expected

@sonny
You are posting replacement software for some of the core files in Fossapup64 sound control.
Have you installed them all in a Fossapup64 9.5 and had no issues using the newer versions?
Also any of the programs that use them?

I always install, test, and use whatever I compile before sharing.
That is my sop.
Thanks again for asking, Biggie.

Regarding your thread re: util-linux-2.40

Your updated package addresses this issue
@Jasper ran into a small issue installing the YAD package (and some of the others)!!
The permissions for /usr/bin
are being changed to 777 which throws a warning:
Code: Select all
Insecure directory in $ENV{PATH} while running with -T switch at /usr/share/perl5/ZoneMinder/Memory.pm line 141.
Compilation failed in require at /usr/share/perl5/ZoneMinder.pm line 37.
BEGIN failed--compilation aborted at /usr/share/perl5/ZoneMinder.pm line 37.
Compilation failed in require at /usr/bin/zmpkg.pl line 34.
BEGIN failed--compilation aborted at /usr/bin/zmpkg.pl line 34.
which is fixed by returning the /usr/bin
to chmod 755.
This is happening to a few of the packages during the installation which I have to say so far are working on F96-CE testing
@rockedge
Thanks for the feedback.
When I compile the applications, I use the default DevX.SFS so GCC remains at 9.3 etc.
The only additions I have included are Cmake and updates for the internal applications eg Make, AutoConf, AutoTools etc.
I do test the applications prior to sharing and I would not upload/share anything that I am not using on a day to day basis.
Most of the time (....when I remember ), I do post the compile/test results. So members can see what has been included.
So, it is a bit strange
More importantly, I am glad that you have found a solution
Are their fundamental differences between FP95 and F96 that may have caused this?

No not enough differences. But the fix is simple! The permissions are wrong inside the PET package!!
Fix by extracting the PET and changing the chmod from 777 to 755
Code: Select all
chmod -R 755 usr
Repackage the PET afterwards and it's all set

Hi @Jasper
Thanks for your new pet. Let me ask if it's the same version issued at:

according to numbers.
