Aspire T180 tablet can't connect to Android phone (solved)

Post by Henri »

Hello,

New user of Xenialpup64 7.5 with an Aspire T180 running an Athlon 3500+, my tablet connected on a USB port is not recognized though hard disks and USB keys are. In the Filesystem " part of the menu, the app " Connect Your Androïd Phone " launch nothing and don't solve the problem. Could you help me to solve it?

Thanks in advance!

Bonjour,

Merci d'avance!

To fully understand.

You are trying to connect your Phone to the computer?

You are connected by a USB cable to the phone and the computer?

What are you trying to be able to do by doing this?

The things you do not tell us, are usually the clue to fixing the problem.

Thank you Bigup for your attention! My answers underneath:

You are trying to connect your Phone to the computer? Yes. More precisely a Samsung tablet Galaxy Tab A ref SM-T510

You are connected by a USB cable to the phone and the computer?

What are you trying to be able to do by doing this? Transfering files and photos from the tablet to the PC

Xenialpup64 7.5 needs to first be updated with a few bug fixes that were found after release.

Run Quickpet ->Info ->Xeinalpup updates (Quickpet program has icon on desktop)

This will download and install them.

I would do this several times until it reports no new updates.

Then reboot making sure the save is updated and these new changes are now being used.

One fix was for the Connect Your Androïd Phone.

Now see if clicking on menu ->Filesystem ->Connect Your Androïd Phone works.

I am not sure exactly how this will work with your specific phone.
Do not know if it auto selects to provide data to a USB connection or you have to go into it's settings and set the USB connection to work this way.

I have one phone that the USB connection is set to only provide power.
I have to go into the phones setting options for USB and set it to data not power.
Then I can transfer data with it.

The things you do not tell us, are usually the clue to fixing the problem.
