Bluetooth connection to keyboard is lost after about an hour without use

Post by MrAccident »

F96-CE
The inbuilt Bluetooth program: blueman-manager.bin 2.1.2.
Keyboard model: Logitech K380.

If I don't use the keyboard for 1\1:30 hours ― the connection is lost. The keyboard is still recognized in the program, and seems to be still connected. I even marked it as “Trusted”. When I click on a key - a light starts to flicker on the keyboard; which indicates that it isn't connected, and nothing happens. So I don't know which of them disconects.
How to at least know - which one is disconnected. And maybe there is another Bluetooth program to use?

Is this a laptop with built-in bluetooth, or a desktop with a bluetooth dongle?

@Flash - PC with a built-in Bluetooth. The keyboard didn't come with a Dongle.

Have you checked the BIOS for Bluetooth settings?

No. How do I do that, and what do I check?

How to get into the BIOS depends on the make and model of your laptop. What does the very first thing say that shows on the screen when the computer begins to boot?

Or you could go to the manufacturer's website and look for the user's manual for your laptop.

I'm just guessing in the dark about whether there's a setting in the BIOS, but it's easy to find out and won't do any harm unless you change something in the BIOS you shouldn't.

Looked, and didn't find anything about Bluetooth.

I'm afraid I'm at a loss. Is there another computer, perhaps a laptop, with Bluetooth that you could use the keyboard on to see if the same thing happens, or a different Bluetooth keyboard lying around that you could use, just for a test?

internet search shows this is a common problem with that keyboard across operating systems

here are setup instructions that show some hot keys for quick reconnect, i am not saying those hot keys will work lol

There is another computer. I'll try when I'll have the time, and it's not used. I don't have another Bluetooth keyboard.

...hot keys for quick reconnect...

Do you mean the long press on F1 key? Cause that's THE way to connect it.
I should have specified what happens exactly. It should be pretty quick, but it's not. I have to click on the Bluetooth icon on the Taskbar > Devices ― to open the program window; click on the icon again > Turn Bluetooth Off; click again > Turn Bluetooth On; left click on the keyboard in the window > Connect; close the window; click Menu > Setup > Mouse/Keyboard manager > X Keyboard properties > Delay (set to 333) (cause it becomes unset) > OK; (to switch between languages) in the same window > Advanced configuration > Group Shift/Lock behavior, expand the window > Alt+Shift > OK; do it again (just doesn't work the first time); close the 2 windows.
I have to do it every time. Some of it is because the settings in the Puppy programs are lost ― but it wouldn't happen if it wouldn't disconnect.
BTW, what I'm doing to reduce the problem - lets say I'm going to eat ― I try to remember to come to the keyboard once, and click on the Shift key, to activate it for another ~hour. But eventually I have to go to sleep X-D.
But maybe another program will be better. Do you know if there is\are some?

I was looking at those "Easy-switch" keys but setting up more than one paired connection to a device may not be possible.

The "Easy-switch" button - is the button I have to push to connect. It doesn't reconnect until I do the things I mentioned.
