pretty strong case for trusting your app dev.
not knowing much about crypto, I have to ask. how does one normally recover their assets with the secret passphase without using an app?

Exchanges
There are also bank machines in the world which are connected to exchanges. You use those (found in stores, etc) like you would any bank machine.
Moral to all stories, assuming no currency failures or exchange failures: "Dont lose your password(s) to your money".
This is posted assuming the question is about moving currency (money) in/out of one's account (aka 'wallet').

Re: Exodus Bitcoin Wallet: $490K Swindle
the question, asked another way, is how does one interact with an exchenge without a wallet? In the article, it was mentioned the legitimate wallet app should not need your recovery passphrase, so in the event you needed to access your crypto with out a wallet, or recover your assets by using the passphrase, how do you interact with the exchange? thru their webapp? in person?
?
Re: Exodus Bitcoin Wallet: $490K Swindle
I’ve used Exodus in the past, but I’ve always been cautious about security. It’s a reminder that no wallet is 100% safe if you’re not careful. I make sure to enable all security features, like 2FA, and always store my recovery phrase offline. The crypto space is full of risks, so staying vigilant is key. Always rely only on trusted sources. As for me, the only platform I trust is Solana Scripts. Never had any issues with them.
