Hi everyone,
First, I'd like to say how amazed I've been by PuppyLinux I used that for backup purposes on an old MS-DOS based machine (700Mhz - 400MB RAM), that is not able to boot from USB, and it worked super well !
Things I've managed to do so far:
- Install specific boot options so that PuppyLinux boots in VGA mode (this old machine has a CRT output, I had to restrain it to 640x480 resolution).
- Reduce icons and fonts sizes so that they "fit" on 640x480 resolution.
- Install NFS driver and my backup tools.
- Remaster an ISO with all the above changes and burn it to CD.
- Boot the CD on my MS-DOS machine, connect to my NAS in NFS, and upload backups of MS-DOS partitions.
The only remaining thing that I'd like to improve is to remove the choice for "keyboard country" when I boot my CD.
I'd like to keep the other "configuration" menus like the one for the Network (maybe I'll have the change my network card one day), but the language, it has to be entered everytime, and it's always the same choice for me!
