Lenovo Thinkpad 11e running Puppy LInux

Post by wizard »

Lenovo has these two versions on the Baytrail platform:

-Thinkpad 11e-20du or 20db with ChromeOS
-Ideapad 100S-11IBY with Windows 32bit

The 11e (Baytrail/Glimmer) can be converted to run Linux by replacing the bios with instructions from: https://mrchromebox.tech/

The new 64bit bios allows you to boot from the 16gb internal eMMC drive, USB, or from the SDcard.

Tested boot from USB, everything working:
-MX Linux 21 & 23
-BookwormPup64 10.0.04

Tested boot from eMMC, everything working:
-MX Linux 21 & 23
-BookwormPup64 10.0.04 Note: this requires a kernel change as described here: viewtopic.php?t=10384&start=60

Tested boot from SDcard, everything working:
-BookwormPup64 10.0.04 Note: this requires a kernel change as described here: viewtopic.php?t=10384&start=60
Also, installation of grub2 using grub2config on the 11e required using a SDcard to USB adapter.

Booting Puppy from the eMMC or SDcard was made possible from @JusGellin's topic on the Ideapad 100S-11IBY and the replacement kernel solution supplied by @gyrog . :thumbup2:
