Re: KLV-Qtile-CE
Actually those 4 evenly tiled windows look appealing.
of all the tiling desktops you put together, I'm still using Spectr daily. When I'm busy with work, as I have been this month, Spectr is the quickest and easiest for me to use. It has the most keystrokes configured, and that probably has something to do with it.
I actually mostly use Spectr to get work done, except for at my audio studio, which has a dual monitor setup, and although Spectr runs the dual monitors, I haven't gotten them to both display properly, one is always ill-fitted. So there I usually boot up Airedale.
It seems we could set up a KLV multi instance install where different instances have different window managers, and then they could all be used off a base system. Maybe where a base system has no X and then different un-numbered layers reside in instance-0 that could be linked to the other instances, or something like that. I say we, but of course I've never had much success installing a desktop environment in the past.
So I'm just brainstorming...

Re: KLV-Qtile-CE
I want to try Hyprland, but no
package for Void, so you need to compile
https://hyprland.org/
I think this is an interesting project !!!

Re: KLV-Qtile-CE
Hyprland is a really cool compositor! It will probably not hit the Void repos until the developer lets more people contribute and there are fewer breaking changes. It doesn't play nicely with Void on updates, but does okay with Nix/Arch/OpenSUSE sometimes.

Re: KLV-Qtile-CE+Hyprland
Looking forward to torture test a pre-built ISO release of this offering when ready.
Now that Pipewire is fully vetted in forum distros, does this addition affect KL's direction toward video handling being upgraded to Wayland?
Re: KLV-Qtile-CE+Hyprland
This is exciting! Can you also take a look at River? It's one edition out of date, but is like a less eye-candy-heavy version of Hyprland. And is more stable/gets less side eye from Void maintainers.

Re: KLV-Qtile-CE+Hyprland
second damn more or less You need a good config waybar, and everything will be in chocolate .
The main thing is hyprland-0.29.1_3.x86_64.xbps - compiled correctly, and the rest is minor stuff.I had to try really hard

Re: KLV-Qtile-CE+Hyprland
Honestly, I don’t know anything about hyprland, much less about wayland. For me it’s all new and quite difficult to set up. So help as much as you can
At the moment it is running as the spot user, I’m just not sure that when running as the root user, all functions will work

Re: KLV-Hyprland-CE
The setup continues! , but it’s fun to set up something you know absolutely nothing about
And finally I managed to install the wallpaper. Yes, this thing is not simple Wayland.
I don’t know how to set pipewire to start at startup ???

If you are using a KLV build script to build the KLV and add in the Hyprland- wayland components? Or is it based on a KLV-Spectr or KLV-Airedale rootfs?
Since this is a KLV it should be almost exactly the same configuration. I need to see the system to know where to put the pieces but that should already work the same across all of the KLV's

KLV build script for building KLV and adding Hyprland-wayland components ,But this is completely different compared to all the assemblies, This is heaven and earth
I can say one thing for a newbie here, it’s not easy. I thought that Arch was the most difficult to set up, but it turns out that this is absolutely not the case

Re: KLV-Hyprland-CE
I just went to the Hyprland.org page to see what this actually does. It's pretty irresistable looking. Especially the apparent ability to resize one tiled window and have all the others resize on the screen to accommodate.

Re: KLV-Hyprland-CE
yeah that impresses me too This is a whole new level .Considering that this is Wayland + Hyprland + Pipewire And I will say so far it works quite quickly and smoothly for Void.Very good responsiveness.which is unexpectedly nice There are still many settings ahead
