Bookwormdog64 in Intel Atom Netbook

Bookwormdog64 in Intel Atom Netbook

Post by lizardidi »

I recently acquired a netbook with intel atom N2600 processor, 2 gb of RAM, 320gb HDD, and intel GMA3600 integrated graphic.

I tried a lot of more modern puppies, all booted to a blank black screen.

However, the old pup (Precise) can boot to a working desktop.

Bookwormdog64 (frugal installed) can boot to a working desktop, all function well and normal. However, the video player is not functioning as all videos is seriously lagging behind.

Is there any video firmware i need to download in order to make this dog run on this netbook? If this is possible, it will greatly improved this machine's capability with its new package repo.

"Lagging behind" not sure what you mean, lagging behind audio ?
Can you provide more details? For example: Which video player you used and if you tried other players perhaps.

When play with gnome-mplayer:
Video lagged, audio delayed
No error status in terminal

When pma with mpv:
Serious video lag, unplayable
Audio lagged and delayed
In terminal an error mesg: unable to find gma500 driver

No other player tried.
Perhaps the hardware is too old to play video?
