BlueMail for Email and more

Post by bigpup »

BlueMail
https://bluemail.me/

Not sure exactly what to say about this.
Best to look at the home page and see what it says about BlueMail.

On the home page is a drop down download list you can choose from for OS type. (Download for Linux snap button down arrow on end)

For Puppy Linux the Download for Linux Deb is best to use.

This is the link to it:
https://download.bluemail.me/BlueMail/deb/BlueMail.deb

This worked in Bookworm Pup64 10.0.3

Have not tried in other Puppy versions.
They may need added dependency stuff.

Note:
Did have to edit the bluemail.desktop file in /usr/share/applications/

To get it to show up in the menu and run when clicked on.

Change Categories= to Email

Add --no-sandbox to end of Exec=

Code: Select all

[Desktop Entry]
0=B
1=l
2=u
3=e
4=M
5=a
6=i
7=l
8=
9=%
10=u
Name=BlueMail
Exec=/opt/BlueMail/bluemail %U --no-sandbox
Terminal=false
Type=Application
Icon=bluemail
StartupWMClass=BlueMail
Comment=BlueMail email client
MimeType=x-scheme-handler/me.blueone.linux;x-scheme-handler/mailto;x-scheme-handler/me.blueone.linux;
Categories=Email;

Sorry, I have not really tried to use this.
So any questions or issues, we all will all have to figure out. :thumbup:

The things you do not tell us, are usually the clue to fixing the problem.
When I was a kid, I wanted to be older.
This is not what I expected :o

Hi, @bigpup ;

First of all, thanks for your time, comments and support, but...

There is a problem, I can't install it on my puppy.

2 situations:

1.- I install the .deb, no problem with it, then I modify the Exec adding --no-sandbox and there is no problem, it start and I can configure it... Can I ?... NO, haha
What happen.-

1a,. -Automatic gmail configuration.- I include my mail address and accept all gmail options but I cant connect using de xdg.

1b.- Manual configuration.- I did the same, accept but.... FAIL TO OPEN ....... this location is not supported.

2.- I install the .deb and modify all the root/user/applications.....bluemail.desktop with the supported code, and the icon of blue mail changes to a file one and I can start it.

As I said, thanks a lot, I continue trying with other accounts (no gmail).

Have a nice day (as I always said, don't waste your time editing code of this programm. Just do it if you have free time.... and you really want)

Have a nice day u all.... AND NICE WEEKEND.

EDITED------------------------------------------------

No problem with hotmail.- Blue mail works with it.-

.... so I am testing it now.- It has got nice options over sylpheed or claws.

~I'll continue testing.....

But only an observation.- With slimjet... problems.... With Chrome problems but with FIREFOX I could acces google (but now there are other limitations I must solve...)

In the end... I CAN'T ACCES GMAIL--- snif..snif.... but IT DOESN'T MATTER, it is not important.... They lost the most.
