How to set EasyOS for 3840x2160 display?

I tried using the display wizard to set the user screen scale on easy 5.5.5 but didn't see any setting to change the screen scale.
My experience with Easy so far has been trying to be able to see the darn thing (currently using jewelers magnifying glasses. If anyone could point me in the right direction (other than out the door for being a noob) It would be much appreciated. here's my system info in LMDE 6 (which I would love to replace and just learn & use EasyOS for the remainder of my personal computing experience moving forward.

How are you using EasyOS? (Frugal install, full install, what?) If you boot it from USB, it should automatically set the correct screen resolution. As a test, have you tried that?

I want to install it as my main OS on this computer. I am using it off of a usb-stick and it fails to resize once it boots into the desktop environment. I have tried to resize the itext size to no effect, not sure how to
get past this so I can actually see my desktop without binoculars lol

Does it always boot to the setup window that showed up the first time you booted EasyOS, or did you create a save file that EasyOS uses when it boots?

Apart from setting global font size, you can also choose the screen resolution.

Go to menu "Setup -> QuickSetup" and you will see a dropdown list to choose screen resolution.

yes I did and hit the save "bullseye on the desktop. I will try it again and report back.

I currently am running it from a usb drive. I was able to change the screen resolution to be able to see the fonts and things on desktop. I am admittedly a GUI Linux user, however I want to learn just one OS. I have installed and played with Fedora 38 Silverblue, MicroOS, and VanillaOS but it seems to me that if I learn EasyOS you can stick a fork in me as I will be done as it seems to have everything. I am now trying to get the sound to work. I used the configuration tool and it didn't help me produce sound (the problem lies between the keybord and chair-most likely)

If you are using the NVidia driver witn an NVidia graphics card, in order to fix the overscan (image not perfectly fitting the screen size) when running 4K (3840x2160 pixels) you have to open System --> Nvidia X Server Settings --> X Server Display Configuration. There on the right, when you are in Basic configuration (not Advanced) there is a slider called Underscan. You should set it to the correct value for you (for me that was 36).
It looks like this is the only working way to do that.

This should be a driver issue, since there are no problems visualizing 4K resolution perfectly on Easy when using the NVidia driver with an NVidia card.
Probably the Linux drivers for your graphics chip (Intel WhiskeyLake-U GT2) are not jet capable of using its full potential. I have a Tiger Lake laptop with integrated full HD screen. But I don't know what happens if I connect it to a UHD (4K) screen.

Maybe your problem is just that you are cloning the screens? Please try with Zarfy to switch off the integrated screen and see what happens.

The correct algorythm should be as follows:

1) Connect the external screen to the HDMI port of your laptop

2) Turn ON your laptop and let it boot, using the integrated screen

3) When the X server loads, run Zarfy first

4) Within Zarfy, switch OFF the intgrated screen, set the correct resolution for the external screen and click USE

5) If you have an external USB keyboard, you can even close the lid of your laptop
