Unexpected results when patching for FULL REAL TIME

Post by rockedge »

@ozsouth I have used your recent 2018-Kernel-kits which have built kernels successfully which also boot!

Tested in F96-CE_4.

One thing really strange is now no matter which RT patches I am using the PREEMPTION selections are NOT showing any full real time options.

I have now tried with kernels I already compiled as RT and the same thing is happening. Yet the RT patches are applied without error!

This is now occurring in the 2018K-Kits and the most recently woof-CE generated kernel-kit.

@rockedge - Is this is for 6.6 kernel with aufs? Seems the 6.6 kernel and now the 6.7 kernel have more aufs issues. I built (& briefly tested) a 6.6.11 PREEMPT kernel (with i_op.c patch). Used 261223ao 2018-Kernelkit. Issues could be due to i_op.c patch - stat.c from 6.6.3 may work better. Instead of i_op.c, you could try stat.c replacement (it seemed ok up to 6.6.7 at least for 2 testers, although peebee had some small graphics issue under overlayfs) - in 6.6.7 I swapped stat.c in when ncurses config menu opened, then continued.

@rockedge - Built a low-latency 6.6.10 kernel (still with i_op.c patch) via 261223-ao-2018-Kernelkit. Briefly tested, OK. DOTconfig attached, ubun link pm'd to you.
