First step, got login as user zeus and get to the (somewhat broken) desktop:

...essentially, it was just a matter of editing /etc/inittab, and a new script /sbin/zeuslogin
EasyOS has always assumed running as root, and this expectation is hardcoded into many scripts, so the scripts will be where attention needs to be focused now.
