Re: tesseract OCR
I use tesseract-ocr as a commandline tool on screenshot selections from pdfs or images etc.
On ubuntu/debian-linked puppies gimagereader is a very good tool, so when that is not available, or converting the .deb to .sfs or xbps (void puppy/KLV) fails, I use a screenshot tool to create a png file and process that. Flameshot seems quite flexible but there are others.

Re: tesseract OCR
I'm planning to include Tesseract in the upcoming Kirkstone series of EasyOS.
I see that there are quite a lot of GUI apps for it. Any suggestion which ones are best?
They are listed here:

Note, I have been away from home for the last several days, back home tonight.
Haven't posted to my blog while away, and just popped into the forum briefly.

Re: Need Tesseract OCR for EasyOS
There was interest expressed in tesseract OCR package on the forum, so compiled that. No GUI though. One of the best-looking GUIs for tesseract seems to be gimagereader, but it has lots of dependencies. I could compile it if there is sufficient interest.
thanks for including the OCR package, no GUI needed here.
