Realtek rt286 Internal sound card not identified in EasyOS Dunfell

Post by TerryH »

For the last couple of weeks my laptop hasn't been working. I have been using a small Dell 2-in-1 Dell Tablet wit Core M 5Y10 CPU. Everything except sound is working well. The internal sound uses realtek (rt286) sound chip. I first tried a USB install of Easy Dunfell 3.0. As work had been done on hardware profiling, I was hoping that the update to Dunfell 3.1 may rectify the issue. The internal soundcard is not identified in Multiple Sound Card Wizard.

I have a working live USB install of PCLinux which internal sound works OK. When I check lsmod it has an additional module snd_soc_sst_broadwell, this module is not included in EasyOS Dunfell.

See:

There are prerequisites in the kernel config, I will have to try and figure them out next time I compile the kernel.
