So, on my Chromebook, in the Crostini layer with Debian Bookworm, after the ChromeOS update that is roughly every four weeks, I am used to doing "sudo apt update && sudo apt upgrade" to update the system, excluding appimages and flatpaks. Would that mean the same commands sans sudo will work to update some(?) packages in EasyOS? I am assuming it won't include the sfs, packages from the scarthgap repository, appimages or flatpaks.

Re: Scope of apt and dpkg
Do you mean that you have installed some .deb packages onto EasyOS?
Some .deb packages may work and others may not work on EasyOS that is based on other distributions than debian.
Apt manages packages in its own way.
It may complain about some of the files installed by way of .pet packages, even when the files are borrowed from debian.
So I think we should be careful about introducing apt into Puppies or Puppy-like OSes.
Or rather, I would be opposed to introducing apt.
