Easter Egg in Geany or other programs?

When examining Geany's binary file I stumbled upon some strange ASCII content that looks like part of a game (see screenshot). A game in Geany?

It's an easter egg that is supposed to start when opening the "About" dialog and - as far as I understand - clicking the Geany icon.

Here a bug report that contains an attached screenshot of version 0.18
I found another Japanese page with screenshot of version 0.19, where the images used for the game are corrected.

These are old Geany versions, but binaries still contain the game description, so they may as well contain the game.
Did anybody crack the egg?

I just typed "about:mozilla" in fresh Firefox 88.0:

It reminded me of Battle City, a good old Japanese game for Famicom/NES. There is such a difficult Easter Egg, but about love(apparently the programmer loved Noriko):

At the title screen, select "CONSTRUCTION" on the menu. Press Start on Controller 1 to enter the mode, then press it again to return back to the title screen. Repeat this seven times. After the seventh enter-and-exit, hold Down on Controller 1 and press A eight times on Controller 2. Finally, hold Right on Controller 1 and press B 12 times on Controller 2.
After all of this, press Start on Controller 1 to activate a secret message from a programmer with a little animation.

I had to peek into the source to figure it out - just type geany.
It's a different game now, though (in v1.36).

Yes, JakeSFR is absolutely right. I poked around libgeany.so.0.0.0 with the same result. I would even suggest organizing a competition to see who gets the most points ... but mouse control, so I don't want to

Geany version (new 1.37.1 Wolbam) for Fossapup in which you need to type NOT "geany", but "puppy". Purely for fun.

In an older version of the Windows Spybot Search and Destroy, a malware detection program, there was a hidden game in its “about” menu category.

about:robots is still in effect in Firefox 92.0.1.

Wow! That is a cool Geany easter egg. The app mp-5 has Options > Play "Pipes", which is like an easter egg.
