geany now fills screen cannot adjust it as margins off screen, inc top bar to click and drag it about. can only minimise all from taskbar, no x or y options. toolbar options to operate program only go halfway across screen.
don't know how i got here nor how to fix. it's the only one with this problem.

I think the resize has gotten oversized.
Try this.
Right click on the Geany window top bar.
If restore is an option click that.
Does the window get smaller and no longer go off screen?
If yes.
Now the top bar right click menu should have all options and the top bar buttons should work.
Note:
If you cannot see the top bar to click on.
Place mouse pointer someplace on the Geany window.
alt+left mouse button hold.
Move the mouse around to move the window back onto the screen.
The things you do not tell us, are usually the clue to fixing the problem.

Geany also has a full screen option in Geany -> View
Make sure that is not selected.
F11 should also select and deselect it.
The things you do not tell us, are usually the clue to fixing the problem.

sorry, neither works. r click in widow allows some content editing.

Right-Click on the open tab in the tray and select Resize. You should see a little arrow. Move the arrow to any of the edges of your window (top/bottom/left/right whichever you can get to). Drag and click when to stop, move the window. You may need to do this procedure more than once. If this does not work, try the following: Right-Click the open tab in the tray > click kill > now open Geany's configuration file ie. /root/.config/geany/geany.conf to edit > go to line number 131 and change the x and y values within your computer's screen size, save and restart geany.
