Keyboard dead in desktop

Post by mrvsensible »

I'm completely new to Puppy so I guess I've missed something obvious!

With the desktop / GUI, typing on the laptop keyboard does nothing (it's as if I hadn't typed anything). Works fine if I exit to a text prompt. It's exactly the same behavior with a USB keyboard.

Running Fossapup64 9.5 from USB flash.

@mrvsensible First :welcome: to the forum!!

Second, what type of laptop are you having the keyboard missing problem on? This is Fossapup64 and not F96-CE_4 (also a fosspup64 but much newer)?

There should be some with some solid ideas and solutions coming a long soon......

Yes, we need to know the specific make and model of the laptop?

When you boot Fossapup64 9.5
Do you see a boot menu with options for how you want to boot Fossapup64?
If yes.
Make sure you are selecting the first one.
That should be a normal boot.

The things you do not tell us, are usually the clue to fixing the problem.
When I was a kid, I wanted to be older.
This is not what I expected :o

How you got Fossapup64 installed on the USB could be helpful.
Details?

Usually with a new fresh install that is doing strange things.
Could be you got a bad download of the Fossapup64 9.5 ISO
Thus a bad install.
Fresh new ISO download and fresh new install can fix a lot of strange issues.
